Lyndsay Vonn is a celebrated skier and recently won a gold metal and broze metal in the winter olympics held in Vancouver, Canada this year. But before her wins in the olympics she posed for sports illustrated. In the artilce I found on http://technorati.com/sports/article/sports-illustrated-cover-of-lindsey-vonn/
states that the cover is to sexual. That other athelics espicially males would not have been photograph in such a sexual manner. This was accordling to Nicole LaVoi, associate director of the Tucker Center for Research in Girls' and Women's Sports at the University of Minnesota. She goes on and states that males such as Derek Jeter and Shaq where not photographed in such a manner.
I also watched the Tonight show with Jay Leno in which Vonn was the guest and she talked about the contraversy related to the cover. She in a nut shell said that she didnt see what the big controversay was about since the pose on the cover is the way in which a person skies. In my opinion I will have to disagree with Vonn and with LaVoi. Less then ten percent of women have been granted the honer of being choosen to be on the SI cover. And yes, Vonn's like the prevoius women before her is photographed in what I consider to be a sexual manner. I think this because I dont think that a male skier would have been photographed in the same manner.
